Semantic UI

Lately at work, one of the projects we are working on is a e-commerce website. My back-end colleagues decided to use Sylius, a framework built upon Symfony and tailored specially for e-commerce.

Sylius also brings its “own” style, which is Semantic UI. But of course, the website we were creating have its own style and design, its own visual identity.

As a front-end dev, it is my role to bring these design to life. My own process for a design to go from “Invision dream” to “alive and well on the world wide web” is based upon the well known atomic design methodology and design tokens : I define my variables in CSS/SCSS/JS and then, build reusable visual bricks/components in Twig/JSX/Pug or whatever tool I work with.
